Het Blauwhuys is a fairytale metaphor about transition into puberty. With a castle as the location, the filmmakers indirectly symbolize the place where the caterpillar can peacefully transform into a butterfly, the place where the child has the freedom to search for its identity. The dance film 'Het Blauwhuys' is the second part of the trilogy 'Zus zonder zus', which focuses on the same three children every six years.
